Basquerville 2025
Backstage.
Basquerville is a design and technology festival held annually in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the capital of the Basque Country. In 2025, it celebrated its third edition, establishing itself as a key meeting point featuring highly prestigious national and international speakers from across the creative industries. The project involves developing the visual identity for this edition, covering creative direction, the conceptual and narrative framework, and the design of all graphic outputs for the festival: online and offline communication systems, audiovisual pieces, stage visuals, interactive interfaces, and spatial graphics. For this third edition, the thematic axis revolves around the Backstage, emphasizing the processual dimension of design: working methodologies, exploratory phases, failed iterations, discarded materials, preliminary sketches, and all the gesturality inherent to creation. Editorial research was carried out through interviews, articles, and talks by the speakers to map their thought processes and internal workflows. This research materializes in a modular visual system based on illustrations and graphic compositions that function as metaphors for each participant’s individual creative process. Each speaker has their own poster, specifically designed from the patterns, dynamics, and strategies that characterize their unique way of producing work. An identity that articulates a cross-cutting system of creative tools—from typography and illustration to motion graphics, wayfinding, interactive design, sound design, and copywriting—all synchronized under a single conceptual narrative: the Backstage.
